Fit To Be Tied

They go by different names - neck tie blouse, bow blouse, secretary bow or pussy bow blouse, but whatever you call them, they're the perfect feminine touch! I'm loving these vintage bow blouses! Look for them in the shop tomorrow!!

Talkin Bout A Revolution...

... a reusable one that is. Bee Wise Goods wants you to join them in the reusable revolution. I was hanging out over at Serendipity Handmade (don't you love the name?!) this morning and found her Meet The Artist Giveaway: Bee Wise Goods post (the giveaway is over, sorry!) and had to share.

Bee Wise Goods is a group of family and friends that have come together and created an amazing line by turning found objects into something new, usable and beautiful.

The really cool thing about Bee Wise Goods is that they offer PDF or printable patterns for most items in their line, as well as free tutorials. It really shows the company's dedication to their goal of moving towards better consumer habits and green living. And what a great bonus for DIYers!

I LOVE their article on Re-Consumerism and their idea of finding dress-up items at a thrift or antiques store to give as gifts for a little girl party! The owner, Gabrielle Krake, also blogs at iCraft where she shares personal projects and tutorials from Bee Wise Goods.

I love to find a company/person that is all about green living and keeping stuff out of our landfills! What's your favorite green business?

Cashmere Love, Reclaimed!

Reclaim your well-loved cashmere with Stella Neptune's iron-on cashmere patches! I mean who wants to say goodbye to their favorite cashmere sweater because some lousy moth has been feasting on it? Eva Kisevalter, the founder of Stella Neptune, doesn't think we should.

She's a dedicated thrifter - my kinda chick - and turned her passion for cashmere in to an "eco luxury line of upcycled cashmere sweaters, iron-on patches, and accessories." Her iron-on patches are made from upcycled cashmere and are the bomb for covering up holes and making your sweater "new" again! Be sure to check out the rest of her site for some awesome sweaters and more!!

Peace & Turkey!

I love Thanksgiving! It's always been my favorite holiday - it's the no-pressure holiday. No gifts, no baskets, no eggs, no flowers, no cards, no costumes. It's all about the food and spending time with friends and family, and giving thanks. Doesn't get any better than that in my book.

1) I love to cook, especially big dinners for a big crowd. I've been working the kitchen magic all day today because we're feasting pretty early in our house this year, which is a first. We've always rang the dinner bell around 2 or 3 but now that my daughter has her own family, she has several tables to dine at on holidays now so we decided it would be easier if we had our feast a wee bit early....and I mean EARRR-LY. Like before noon! Have mercy!

2) If you cook it, they will come! So Turkey Day is always spent with lots of family and friends and at the end of the day, when everyone has gone home with a full belly, the food is put away, the kitchen is cleaned up, the pants button is undone and my husband is sprawled on the couch - he inevitably looks over at me and smiles and says it was a good day...

3) When you have 1 & 2, you have plenty to be thankful for.

Wishing everyone great peace and plenty of turkey! Happy Thanksgiving!
